How amazing Ireland would be if we were covered in our own plants, if we didn’t decide to import things that were pretty? Why do we think we always need to be like someone else?

By listening carefully to her client and the land in question, Mary Reynolds undertakes the design of gardens that marry the needs and wishes of the land’s guardian with the needs and wishes of the land itself. With her roots in natural gardening theory, Mary seeks to create spaces that are healing, truthful and magical.

I have come full circle with garden and landscape design. Now I want you to give any land under your care back to nature, to re-wild, to be ‘ARKed’ with Acts of Restorative Kindness to the earth.

We’re pleased to announce WE ARE THE ARK: Returning Our Gardens to Their True Nature Through Acts of Restorative Kindness by Mary Reynolds with illustrations by Ruth Evans will be published by Timber Press on 25 October. You can pre-order now via your choice here or from The Book Depository.
